Ranking integrity

Ranking integrity matters. We check for duplicated, conflicting or unreliable evidence and review unusual changes before they affect a ranking. If evidence needs checking, we hold it until it can be verified rather than applying hidden penalties.

Integrity work does not change the scoring model. Unrelated facts keep their own evidence. Once a concern is resolved, the signal can be used again. Published ranking editions stay as they were at the time.

How we protect the ranking

  • Check the evidence

    We look for duplicated claims, conflicts between sources and sudden changes in high-leverage facts such as capacity, bedrooms, accessibility and exclusivity.

  • Hold until we can verify

    If a signal needs checking, we set it aside rather than guess. Other metrics are left alone. There are no hidden negative score points.

  • Restore what is verified

    Once stronger evidence is in place, the signal can be used again under the normal rules. Historic editions are not rewritten.

Before an official edition we review high-leverage evidence for the current top of the list, and we sample the rest of the eligible set. Exact detector thresholds stay in versioned configuration.
